It has been a long, long time since I did any serious stitching - life came between me and my favorite hobby. But I'm a sampler and specialty needlework nut.
Yesterday, by happy mistake, I got some time to visit my very favorite LNS (that's local needlework shop, for those of you less crafty) - The Stitching Post. Tons of gorgeous new model stitched pieces are hung on the walls. There are beautiful autumn themes in the color choices and motifs.
I didn't buy anything though! I DID come home and start hunting for all of my charts -- I used to imagine that I'd get to spend days just sitting and stitching. I also used to stitch while I rode along on longer drives occasionally. I'm NOT ending up getting to do those things now. So I have an accumulation of fibers, fabric, and charts that are just waiting around.
I also have a couple of UnFinished Objects or UFOs in one tote bag or another. So I'm going to choose one and try to fit a bit of stitching in at least each week. Stitching is very relaxing and kind of meditative, and I like having a tactile, visible outcome from the time I spend on a piece, too.
